Wide oak planks with real grain

A straight lay is the quietest thing a floor can do, and that is the point. Long, wide boards running in one direction stretch a room visually and let the timber itself carry the interest. With genuine oak on the surface, that means grain, knots and colour movement that no printed decor reproduces convincingly.

Built to stay flat

Wide boards are the ones most likely to cup or gap when conditions change, which is exactly where engineered construction earns its place. A real oak wear layer sits over a stable core, so the board holds its shape through the humidity swings of an Australian year far better than a solid board of the same width.

Textured, not glossy

Light wire brushing opens the grain so the surface has something to it underfoot, rather than the flat plastic look of a high gloss finish. Multiple layers of UV lacquer sit over the top and take the daily wear, which keeps maintenance to sweeping and the occasional damp mop.

Judge the colour in the room

Oak shifts noticeably between natural light and artificial, and between morning and evening. Order samples, lay them in the actual room, and look at them across a full day before choosing. It is the single best way to avoid a floor that reads warmer or cooler than you expected.
