Straight Hybrid Flooring

Straight lay is the most widely installed flooring format in Australian homes, running boards in continuous parallel lines. It is the simplest pattern to install, the most forgiving across awkward floor plans, and the easiest to extend if you renovate later.

Why straight lay suits most homes

Parallel boards draw the eye along their length, which makes rooms read as longer and open-plan spaces feel more generous. Running boards toward the main light source or along the longest wall is the usual approach, though the pattern is flexible enough that neither rule is binding.

A range of oak tones

Our straight-lay range spans pale, creamy blondes through mid browns to deeper, richer tones. Lighter boards open up smaller rooms and pair naturally with white kitchens and stone benchtops, while darker tones bring warmth and contrast to larger spaces with plenty of natural light.

Built to handle daily life

Every board carries a waterproof core and a scratch-resistant wear layer with a protective UV coating. Embossed surface texture adds depth that reads as timber rather than print, and the rigid core keeps boards flat and quiet underfoot without a separate underlay.

Installing straight-lay planks

The click-lock system means a floating installation over most existing hard floors, with no adhesive required. Straight lay also generates less offcut waste than patterned formats, which keeps both material and labour costs down on larger areas.
